What can I say; You out-of-touch and just plain wrong. Apparently bad old habits die hard.

Check MPG; camparitive price / features; styling; Awards won in the most recent model year; etc. etc. etc. And then stand back an just LOOK at them. If you're biggoted against American-Made cars, then just admit it. You just sound stupid when you try to rationalize the irrational.

Both good-looking SUV's; both a definite family resemblence; but each unique in it's own distinct way. Put them side by side and the Journey and Cherokee are much less alike than the C-class & S-Class. And about as much alike as the 3- series & 7- series. I actually like the Journey. It's the one thoughtful vehicle in their crossover lineup. But other than the tail lamps being red and the wheels being round, I'm not seeing a big similarity. Jeep needs to focus on three vehicles... the Cherokee, the Wrangler and the Liberty. They all need to be "Trail Rated" and they all have to be authentic.

VInce - youre really reaching here - Have you not seen the actual photos of this car (http://www.allpar.com/trucks/jeep/2011-cherokee.html) Chrysler has been sucking a lot of wind lately - but they have a winner in this car. A effective, sophisticated interpretation of classic jeep styling and go anywhere capabilities. As you can see from the link, the rear is dead on - exactly what it should be. If they can get through their troubles with sourcing from Daimeler and get this think out, it will be a big winner.

PS - how dare you compare it to the nightmare which is the dodge journey.

The ONLY good thing about the upcoming Grand Cherokee is that it is DIRECTLY based off of the Mercedes M Class.

Aside from that, the Chrysler bits are going to be garbage like they usually are.

I never thought that I would live to see the day when Jeep went completely limp and soft and start to produce these so called crossover CUV's instead of the rugged trucks and SUV's that has made this brand what it is for 75 years plus! Vince is absolutely correct when he forsees that the future of Jeep is in jeopardy if they go in this direction like all the other pansey manufacturing flower shops around the world!
