I have an X5 35D diesel, It;s getting a great workout in this very snowy Mid-Atlantic area this month, Great AWD system. Think no one will notice the difference in bumper style. looks better than black plastic style.
The X5 has always been good-looking. It's the X3 that seriously needs a makeover.
