Looks great, but two years is plenty of time for the design to get diluted. Also, manufacturers keep promising lighter cars for better fuel economy, but no ones followed through yet. This may be one case where I'd believe it.
Wrong direction. It needs to get bigger in all directions.
Very Nice! Seems these car companies are reading this website and hiring Designers with over a 5th grade mentality.
Wrong direction. It needs to get bigger in all directions. Why?
"Wrong direction. It needs to get bigger in all directions. Why?"I alawys get a chuckle seeing above average height guys driving the miata atound, when they sit straight up it looks like they are taller than the car and if they try to close the top it will strike them in the head. there's nothing wrong with the car's size mechanically, it is probably one of the thing that makes the mx5 such a great driver's car, but purely for aesthetic alone they should really make the car just a tad larger, they should also give it a profile similar to the z4/s2000, where the rear section of the car looks like it's larger/thicker than the front. all the mx-5's to date give you the impression of a bathtub since it has the flatest shoulder line possible
Wrong direction. It needs to get bigger in all directions. Why?Because a golf cart (and this isn't big enough to be a car) should be able to haul at least 2 golfers and 2 sets of clubs. It looks a bit cubious here.
"Anonymous said... Wrong direction. It needs to get bigger in all directions.August 18, 2009 6:29 PM"Absolutely not.I have a '90 Miata and I don't want it to get any bigger. Bigger means more weight and less fun. If you race Spec Miata then you don't want a heavier car.
At 6'1" I don't have any problems with my 2004 Miata; top up or down. The beauty of the car is that it's small and light. This isn't a status car. It shouldn't conform to those standards. It needn't worry about golf clubs, flashy over-designed interiors / technology or getting bigger.
We walked to school in 30 feet of snow 30 miles uphill both directions and we wanted it that way.
Wrong direction. It needs to get bigger in all directions. NOT it your a schreiner! We'll take 20 for the next clown cart parade!!!
If golf clubs are so f*cking important, get a luggage rack for the trunk lid. Or buy a different car.Sheesh.
Needs the big shiteatin grin grill.
RESPONSE TO: "If golf clubs are so f*cking important, get a luggage rack for the trunk lid. Or buy a different car."I did. A Chrysler 300 LWB Hemi. And a Navigator. But I'm still looking for a new golf cart and this little MX5 seemed to be similar in size to most (carts) that I've looked at.Sheesh.
Who thinks this looks original? Hood remdinds me of the Chevy Corvette. if it was a Hyundai that would have been said. Also. Toyotas are looking like Mazdas now. Take a look of the Toyota Yaris's front grille and headlights. Take a look at the Corolla's headlights. But hey the Mazda 5 looks like a the Toyota's Sienna in the face. If the 5 was badged Kia people would have said that.
When your purchasing a sports car, especially an inexpensive one... at what point do stop and think "man I really hope this holds my golf clubs"? NOOTTT!!!Your thinking the only thing between you and driving this thing like it's stolen is a greasy haired salesman and 27 signitures.Overall the car looks like a fresh new design which these days is a rareity
