All new Hyundai Tucson

It was cought during a commercial shoot in Australia.
So you know it's coming out soon.
And it looks great.
This will be some serious competition to the established players like the CRV and RAV4.
And might be deadly to the poor old Mitsubishi Outlander or even the Nissan Rogue.

This is last year's concept. As you can see, Hyundai has kept most of the design for its production version.
With this and the new Sonata, I think 201 should turn out to be a pretty good year for them.

"Hyundai has kept most of the design for its production version"

Thank goodness Hyundai-Kia has realized how important this is.

Chrysler was really one of this first automakers to do this regularly and has pushed others to do the same. It's just too bad they ran out of innovation.

The only interesting visual elements on the concept are the LED lights, the chrome side strip and the awful pie-tin wheels. With all three of those things gone, this just looks like every other car in the Wal Mart parking lot.

Wow, way to copy the Ford Iosis concept Hyundai. Do they have any original ideas?

Just look at their new Hyundai Sonata concept; copied the HVAC controls straight from Volvo.

Designed for women drivers (again).

Yes, so far from what I’ve seen this looks very promising. Although I will have to wait for more and better images of the new Tucson before jumping on the “home run” bandwagon.

If the interior is as upmarket looking as the exterior shown, then Hyundai is indeed writing itself a new chapter, moving further and further away from its humble “econo” label and redefining itself in the marketplace by deftly moving upstream at a time when both the economy and auto industry are in turmoil.

The timing is perfect for Hyundai, they seem to recognize this unprecedented opportunity to “shift” their brand up, without the added expense of creating a new separate brand channel. Perhaps they will find a way to nest and “kisok” the Genesis luxury brand within the Hyundai umbrella by giving it its own exclusive dedicated sales and support staff. This should cost barely a quarter of the 2 Billion dollars that Hyundai had stated a new brand channel would’ve cost them.

The redesigned Tucson along with the upcoming redesigned Sonata will put the one-two punch to the gut of the weakest U.S. import competitor-Nissan- and then send the two leading Japanese giants, Honda and Toyota reeling on the ropes.

Make no mistake, Hyundai has little room for error here, both these launches along with the upcoming automotive press coverage will have to be positive to continue the momentum and drive upstream.

From here it looks like Hyundai is making all the right moves.

It does look like a psychotic woman car.

Just gotta love the trend to endanger, with those ludicrous rear quarter excuses that were once called windows!

I like it. I see a lot of Kuga / Murano (1st gen) in this thing....nice!

The only bits that look good are the ones taken from Ford, Nissan design (Kuga&Murano). Concept was better

Just saw the interior spy shots- they look like ass.

It might be deadly to the Nissan Rogue? Ferchrissakes, it looks just lie the Nissan Rogue!

Just enough "ugly" and "abnormality" to compete with Lexus RS & Mercedes.

I like everything but the front end. I think it is going to be a hit for Hyundai.

The Rogue is an awful vehicle. Rented one in Chicago, and previously in Denver and I hated every minute of it. From the cheap plastics, to the crude 2.5 and the awful CVT. The fit and finish wasn't even up to par with a RAV4 which also has SERIOUS fit and finish issues.

No thanks.

I hate to break it to you, if they wanted to follow the LEADER they would have copied the CR-V. Currently America's best selling SUV. The CR-V outsells the Rogue 4::1

The face of this car looks annoying and obnoxious. Like someone I'd want to punch.

And the interior, from what I've seen, looks like something from 2003.

Why not just build this thing with no rear windows at all? Rear visibility in too many of these "crossover" cars is non-existent.

Nice style, but I'd like more glass in the back.

The designers are either blind or psychotic...Maybe they are 8 year olds or graduated a kalifornia art school.

I like it. I had a 07' CRV and didn't like it.
Just got a Nissan Rogue SL Leather, Xenox lights, bluetooth, it is loaded and you get the pic.
The only think I don't like is the front. Gas is much better than the CRV/Element and Rav4.

I was looking at a Santa Fe but I go thru cars like crazy and the thing that hold me back was the brand, Hyundai. I know I would get crap for the trade in.

I really like the design in the Tucson but will not buy it because of the trade in.

Good point, but it's designed for women. The most important feature on this will be the vanity mirror.

....and you are going to get a lot for your Nissan when you trade it in??? Nissan is just about at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to resale value. Sounds like you didn't do any research. Check any of the publications and you will see what I am talking about. That was a foolish comment.

That Honda you traded in has by FAR the highest residual value in its class.

Hyundai and Nissan are pretty much on the same level as far as residual values go.

People are dumb.
